Summary: The goal of OntoWeb Network is to bring researcher and industrials together enabling the full power ontologies may have to improve information exchange in areas such as: information retrieval, knowledge management, electronic commerce, and bioinformatics. It will also strengthen the European influence on standardization efforts in areas such as web languages (RDF, XML), upper-layer ontologies, and content standards such as catalogues in electronic commerce.
